Terms of Service

FUMANA is a local discovery platform for Zimbabwe. We help people find jobs, accommodation, businesses, and freelancers, and connect with them directly.

FUMANA is not a marketplace, payment processor, escrow service, or guarantor of any transaction between users. We do not employ listing owners, verify every claim they make, or supervise meetings, deliveries, or payments that happen off the platform.

You are responsible for your own decisions when using FUMANA. Before contacting, hiring, renting from, or paying anyone you find through the platform, you should exercise reasonable due diligence, including:

• Verifying the identity and legitimacy of the other party where possible.
• Meeting in safe, public places when appropriate.
• Confirming prices, scope of work, and timelines before committing.
• Checking references, portfolios, or physical premises where relevant.
• Being cautious of offers that seem too good to be true or involve unusual urgency.

Information on FUMANA is submitted by users. We do not guarantee that every listing is accurate, complete, or lawful.

Do not send money before you receive a service, product, or accommodation unless you are fully satisfied with the risk and have independently verified the other party. FUMANA strongly advises against paying deposits, transfer fees, or advance payments to strangers based solely on a listing or online conversation.

FUMANA does not collect payments on behalf of users, hold funds in escrow, or refund money lost in private dealings between users. Any payment arrangement is strictly between you and the other party.

We do not wish for scams, fraud, or dishonest conduct to occur on or because of FUMANA. However, like any open listing platform, misuse by bad actors is possible.

FUMANA is not responsible for any scam, fraud, theft, misrepresentation, non-delivery, poor workmanship, dispute, loss, or damage arising from contact, communication, or transactions between users, whether initiated through FUMANA or otherwise.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FUMANA disclaims liability for acts or omissions of third parties, including other users, and for losses resulting from reliance on user-submitted content.

If you believe you have encountered a scam or fraudulent listing, stop further contact, do not send money, and report the matter to FUMANA and, where appropriate, to the Zimbabwe Republic Police or other relevant authority.

FUMANA does not tolerate illegal activity. Where we become aware of conduct that appears unlawful — including fraud, harassment, theft, impersonation, or other offences connected to use of the platform — we may investigate, remove content, suspend accounts, and take other appropriate action.

We will provide the Zimbabwe Republic Police and other competent authorities with necessary information where required by law, pursuant to a valid legal process, or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to investigate or prevent illegal activity connected to FUMANA.

This may include account details, listing content, contact information, timestamps, IP addresses, and other records we hold, subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.

FUMANA does not act as an estate agent, employer, recruiter, or provider of professional services. Accommodation and job listings are advertisements only. Users offering regulated services (for example medical, legal, or financial services) are responsible for holding any required licences and qualifications.
